The other side of spring sailing

Here in Texas we get to start our sailing season quite a bit earlier than the rest of the country. Sounds great, right? But sometimes I sense that all the nice days early the year are just a way of luring onto the water on days like this. The forecast was for light winds from the southeast, but once we got out on the lake, the wind shifted around suddenly to the north. And with it came the hail...

  1. It's still good you got out, hail or no hail. Send some Texas weather up here! In NE the snow is now off most of the launch ramps but the bigger lakes still have some ice. But it is time to relash the outrigger and try some April sailing, properly geared up in fleece and drysuit.

  2. Hey Wade, great to hear from you. Before long we will have more heat than we can stand, so yeah, I'll be happy to send any extra your way. In the meantime, good luck with the April sailing. Drysuit and fleece sounds like a good combination on icy lakes . Send some pics.
